The project was inspired by a fascination for the colorful marble floor patterns of the Pantheon in Rome. The first time Maarten entered that space, these giant geometric marble shapes had an almost physical impact on him.
The designer wanted to create a collection of tables that evokes this sensation one feels when approaching these enormous colorful circles and squares that seem to be floating in space, like color blocks full of beautiful patterns and life, demonstrating the incredible raw beauty of nature.
By lifting these simple geometric shapes off the ground and placing them on a visually light metal structure, a similar atmosphere arises, and while taking a seat at these tables, the rare and unique stones we are using can be admired from up close.
